Mostly a solo artist though he does flesh out the albums witha band, live it's just him and a trust 1930s small bodied Gibson. He is the most Rock n Roll solo artist I have ever heard.

I saw Ani do a solo show earlier in the year. Regardless of her views I can appreciate a very talented songwriter and she certainly qualifies.

I'm really thrilled to hear some solo fingerstyle from Ani. "Out of Range" has always been inspiring to me. I will admit that Evolve made me yearn for some of her more cutting up-tempo stuff, some of the songs on the above link have a lot of funky fingerstyle.

As far as Ani being offensive...it's art. Speaking your mind and not caring is the work of a real writer. Think of how offended some people were when CSN wrote Ohio. You don't have to agree or disagree with everything you hear, the fact that she got to you says enough...I hear 50 songs a day on the radio that don't even phase me. I like organic food therefore I garden and hunt, I don't throw a fit when she declares all firearms bad, I just listen and disagree.

I'll step off my soapbox now. I look forward to adding this CD to my collection. Ms. DeFranco is one of my favorite artists, this sounds like a great CD.

Thanks to you all !

I appreciate all your comments and specially yours johnlg it's true and clear I like your free speaking and your blance way of seeing things.

I highly recommend the DVD "Render" cause it includes a lot of backstage scenes where you realize how precise Ani is about her music.

It seems that even the Horn parts are already in her brain quite amazing !

I wish you all a very good end for 2003 and a wonderful start for 2004.
