Do a Google search for Rondo Music and check out the Agile guitars and also check the reviews on Harmony Central, fenderforum.com, and the reviews right on the Rondo site. These guitars surpass everything in the price range. They make a 335 copy in natural finish for around $350 US. Kurt @ Rondo is absolutely great to deal with and stands behind the product 100%. Their Les Paul copies are raved about all over the net.

Check out the reviews for the Samick SAT-650
Artist series at HC.
I have one.

There isn't a whole lot of difference between this guitar and a new ES-335.

I would look into the Epi's. I have owned 2 of them and I enjoyed the tone, action anf overall construction. I had a Rivera from 81 to 86 and a Sheraton from 86 to today. With 17 years with the Sheraton I have had no issues at all, it's my Jazz-Fusion guitar. The binding has aged and yellowed, the hardware is in great shape, it plays like butter. Mine is Korean. A real keeper.
The Epi dots are $400.00. They have a sort of Satin finish, you can really feel the wood, a solid honest guitar I think. The Joe Pass guitars look fantastic as well, I've played them in stores.

Enjoy the shopping!

John
