I have seen some Tacomas and they were not bad. Fun to play. Might server.

There is no way I am buying an upright. Would have no place to put it and have no interesting hauling one of those things around NYC lol

Also, I can't wear electric guitars, they are just too heavy for a physical condition that I have. So an electric bass would be worse. That is another reason the acoustics appeal to me, they are light weight.

If you look around a bit, you may find a used older Martin acoustic bass guitar. They made them out of solid woods for the first few years. I think the standard model I owned was a B-65. Sounded great miked, could be played almost loud enough acoustic with a pick. But plugged in it still had a special acoustic tone.

I banged them around a bit in the US and Canada with a bluegrass band and they held together fine. Sounded good through the little Gallien Kruger combo.

Of the new ones, I concur with the Tacoma.
