On June 24, Christie's auction house in New York will auction off 100 of Eric Clapton's favorite guitars, including a Martin 000-28 (valued at £10,000) used on Slowhand and a 1956 sunburst Fender Stratocaster known as "Brownie" (expected to sell for £100,000) used on the original recording of "Layla." The proceeds will benefit a drug rehabilitation center Clapton has set up on the Caribbean island of Antigua. For more information, go to www.christies.com.

Arhoolie Records founder Chris Strachwitz was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame at a ceremony held March 16 at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
