Play This Issue: May 2014

Can’t get enough of those great songs Acoustic Guitar publishes in the print edition as “Songs to Play”? We have the solution for you: a web version, “Play This Issue,” in which you actually play those songs.

If you feel inspired to play the song transcriptions from the current issue, join in and share your video below. It's easy to participate:

  • Learn one of the songs. That’s easier said than done, we know. Our advice: practice, practice, practice.
  • Record a video of your performance on your smart phone, webcam, or the family camcorder.
  • Upload the video to YouTube and share the link right here.

The May issue featured Eric Clapton’s version of the Jimmy Cox standard “Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out”; a fragment of Led Zeppelin’s version of Anne Bredon’s “Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You”; and the traditional Celtic tune “Bottom of the Punchbowl,” made famous by many artists, including Norman Blake.
