Posted on December 9, 2013 | by Amber von Nagel

Neil Young has announced that he will play four benefit shows in his native Canada in January to help raise funds for the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Legal Defense Fund. Diana Krall will also perform on each of these dates. The performances are as follows:

Jan 12: Toronto, Massey Hall
Jan 16: Winnipeg, Centennial Concert Hall
Jan 17: Regina, Conexus Arts Centre
Jan 19: Calgary, Jack Singer Concert Hall

These Honor the Treaties concert dates will benefit the ACFN Legal Defense Fund, which supports the Athabasca Chipewyan people in their legal challenges against oil companies and government actions that obstruct their traditional lands and rights.

The video above shows Young playing "Heart of Gold" live in 1971. We can't get enough of this performance!

Tickets for these performances go on sale December 10.
