MerleFest Adds Old Crow Medicine Show and Holly Williams to 2014 Lineup
Celebrated roots music band Old Crow Medicine Show have been added to the lineup for MerleFest 2014. It has also been announced that singer-songwriter Holly Williams will be joining the festival's lineup as well. Old Crow Medicine Show is scheduled to perform during the festival's Friday evening, Williams on Thursday evening.
The four-day festival will run April 24–27 and will take place at its usual venue, the Wilkes Community College campus in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. More details on its continuously expanding lineup can be found here.
Old Crow Medicine Show are MerleFest veterans. The band's career saw its first big break when they were asked by Doc Watson to play at MerleFest in 2000. They are frequent guests on NPR's A Prairie Home Companion and recent inductees into the Grand Ole Opry.
This will be Holly Williams' first MerleFest appearance. Daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. and granddaughter of Hank Sr., she is a wonderful singer-songwriter in her own right and has gained much respect from the acoustic music world over the years.
