Lee Ritenour's Six String Theory Competition Open to Acoustic Guitarists
Grammy-winning guitarist/producer Lee Ritenour is hosting his fourth annual Six String Theory Competition this year for guitar, bass, piano/keyboard, and drums. Entries will be accepted from January 15 through May 15. Guitar competition entrants may register in the genres of acoustic, rock, blues, jazz/fusion, classical/flamenco, and country. Rhythm players may register in any contemporary style.
Four grand prize winners (one in each instrument) will perform at the 2014 Montreux Jazz Festival. The grand prize winner for guitar will perform with Lee Ritenour at the “Legends of Guitar” concert at Montreux.
The panel of judges includes Dave Grusin, John Patitucci, Dave Weckl, Harvey Mason, Patrice Rushen, John Beasley, Sonny Emory, Will Kennedy, Daniel Jobim, Alan Pasqua, Melvin Lee Davis, Tom Kennedy, Nathan East, Simon Phillips, Chris Coleman and Gary Novak.
