LISTEN: Beck Mines Acoustic Vibe on "Blue Moon"

Posted on February 13, 2014 | by David Knowles

On Morning Phase, his first new album in six years, Beck resumes his relationship with the acoustic guitar.

While we plan a full review of the album--which is scheduled to be released on February 25--in an upcoming issue of the magazine, we've been digging the acoustic guitar work we've heard so far.

Ever since coming out with his groundbreaking 1993 single "Loser," Beck has defied categorization. On "Blue Moon" one of the singles to leak online ahead of Morning Phase, you can hear a distinct progression from some of his finer work on records like Mutations and Sea Change.

One thing is clear, whatever instruments Beck is using, he's worth a listen.
