Kacey Musgraves Releases (Uncensored) 'Follow Your Arrow' Video
Weeks after having her performance of her hit "Follow Your Arrow" censored by ABC, Kacey Musgraves released a video for the irreverent song on Monday.
The song, in which Musgraves downplays formerly taboo social issues like smoking marijuana, same-sex relationships, and a lack of religious faith, apparently crossed a line with network executives who made sure that the singer's vocals were muted when she sang "roll up a joint."
In an interview with Acoustic Guitar over the weekend, Musgraves says she was surprised by ABC's decision to censor the line.
"They told me that I would either have to change the lyrics, or I would be censored, and I'm not changing the lyrics, so..." Musgraves said.
Musgraves, who took home the New Artist of the Year award at the CMA's is up for four Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist.
