GearFest Takes the Stage June 6 & 7
It’s time to get “amped” up for GearFest ’14, the largest public music trade show in the United States—a veritable musical manna for players, instruments, and the people who love them.
More than 200 manufacturers are expected at this year’s gear-apolooza, which takes place June 6 and 7 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and will once again include all types of musical attractions—from a gear expo and entertainment events to a “musicians mecca” and music demos and workshops led by notable names in the music industry.
Among the main events at GearFest is the June 7 “Producer's Panel,” which will include a slew of ace behind-the-controls folk from the recording industry—with panelists who have worked with Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and R.E.M.
The two-day event will also feature performances and sessions with Led Zeppelin progeny Jason Bonham, bassist Billy Sheehan, drummer Kenny Aronoff, and many others.
The free-admission event is put on by online instrument retailer Sweetwater Sound; festival hours are Friday, 9am to 6pm; Saturday, 9am to 5pm. For more information, visit sweetwater.com.
