Andy McKee Sets Autumn Tour Dates

Posted on June 26, 2014 | by Jason Walsh

Andy McKee may not yet be an acoustic-guitar “legend,” but his fall Mythmaker tour looks like an epic in the making.

The upcoming live trek is a 39-date North America whirlwind kicking off September 16 at the Waiting Room in Omaha, Nebraska and winding down December 13 at a still-to-be-determined venue in Canada.

McKee—a past cover boy for Acoustic Guitar and the featured performer on an upcoming Acoustic Guitar Sessions video—is touring in support of his recently released EP, Mythmaker, the guitar virtuoso’s first new music since 2010’s Joyland. The four-song release features more of the Kansas native’s signature acoustic-guitar theatrics on “The Reason” and the title track, plus a multi-instrumental workout titled “Lumine,” and a piano-driven ode to his mother and grandmother, “June.”

Mythmaker is also the name of McKee’s newly founded record label, which he says he envisions as “a home for creative and highly unique musical artists.”
