Broken Bells Pay Tribute to the Beatles on 'Late Show'

Posted by Amber von Nagel

To begin David Letterman's week-long tribute to the Beatles, Broken Bells forewent their usual dance jams and played an acoustic cover of the Beatles classic "And I Love Her," backed by old television footage of Ringo Starr playing drums. You can watch the performance in the video above.

The Late Show's "Beatles Week" will continue on February 4 with Sting performing "Drive My Car," the Flaming Lips and Sean Lennon performing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" on February 5, and Lenny Kravitz performing on February 6 (song to be announced). Friday's guest has not been revealed yet. The week-long celebration commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles' appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Appropriately, the Late Show tapes at the Ed Sullivan Theater where the Beatles made their US debut.
