Dolly Parton Offers Vinyl 7-inch for Record Store Day
Dolly Parton wants to leave record lovers blue this week—with a blue-vinyl edition of her new song “Blue Smoke,” that is.
Parton’s latest album, Blue Smoke, hits the streets May 13, but in recognition of international Record Store Day on April 19, the country singer is releasing a limited number of 7-inch blue-colored records featuring a pair of tracks from the LP at participating record stores.
Blue Smoke is the 42nd studio album from Parton, who shot to stardom in the 1970s and ‘80s on the crest of such acoustic-country hits as “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “9 to 5,” and “Islands in the Stream.”
Blue Smoke marks Parton’s first new release in three years. The album features a dozen bluegrass and country songs including covers of Bob Dylan and Bon Jovi, plus duets with Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers.
When Blue Smoke enjoys its wider release in May, the CD will be offered with four additional tracks sold exclusively at Walmart.
