A flatpicker’s dream, the 14-fret square-shouldered dreadnought design was first introduced by Martin in 1934—and acoustic guitar players have voicing their passions for it ever since. Here’s how those passions were voiced in our 2014 Player’s Choice Awards:

GOLD: Martin

SILVER: Taylor

BRONZE: Gibson

(Due to a clerical error that may have affected the outcome of the polling, Santa Cruz Guitar Company was inadvertently left out of the voting for the following categories: Small-Bodied Flattop, Dreadnought, and Mid-size Flattop.)
