For most of the past 50 or so years, the esteemed D'Angelico brand was largely dormant, but since being purchased by a trio of entrepreneurs in 2013, D'Angelico has become rejuvenated. Inspired by John D'Angelico's original designs, the company's recent output of archtops, mostly manufactured in South Korea, may never approach the tonal and cosmetic excellence of their predecessors, but they have still won a growing number of new fans. As the D'Angelico resurgence continues, the company has added a range of new models to the catalog, including eight acoustic guitars introduced at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim.

Guitar Workshop Plus, recipient of a 2014 Acoustic Guitar Player's Choice Award for Instruction, has announced its first-ever U.S.-based workshop for 2015. Alynda Lee Segarra was a high schooler in New York City when she first heard Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Emmylou Harris, and Alison Krauss in the 2000 blockbuster, O Brother, Where Art Thou?
