I was on the 12-string forum and a couple others but I haven't heard much from any of them of late

Matt Sarad here. Howard Lee, Millring, and everyone else seem to spend some time at the Soundhole Cafe. It ain't like this was ten years ago.

I became a subscriber of Acoustic Guitar two months ago. I agree the community site is in need of slightly improved navigation. Like most things in life, it takes a little patients and time to figure out. So I never let that sort of stuff ruffle my feathers. Just like learning a new song. I have one request from all of you who posted your displeasure. Why are you here?

I am here because Acoustic Guitar is a great periodical. To me it is an Ericka. Acoustic Guitar is an impressive product. And then to have web pages with so many tools where we can even communicate with the authors, watch their demonstration videos, and have conversations with other subscribers who are professional musicians. WOW! Too bad Acoustic Guitar did not exist when I played in my high school orchestra many moons ago (1969).

What is important to me is music, the people who make it work, and how they make it work. I am very displeased with many sites that are nothing more than chat rooms behind subject facades. In the mix of these “free” chat rooms I might find a few serious members. This brings me to root of the problem I find with many community “free” sites; the lack of seriousness within the membership. I hope to find something more than schoolyard chatter here. This community is quite a level above the “free” sand box chat rooms full of budding teen age rock stars. I find this refreshing!

I will stay right here. Who knows, it may turn out to be a place where serious musicians can mix with us serious armatures. But hey, that’s me. I am patient and willing to learn from and share with the big boys and girls. I hope many of you who posted your displeasure with this community site will stay and make this a better place for sharing creativity in a productive and cordial manner: Coaches Needed.

Too bad it is slow, Jimmy
