I have been using DR Red Devils on my Rainsong. They look great, sound wonderful, and last a good long time. Nice and bright, very alive; they last for months, even with lots of gigs.

On our Larivee we use Elixers, but sometimes try other types. But I really like the Red Devils!

While I am a traditionally a phos brnz. player from D'Addario to GHS to DR; recently I have been playing GHS' Vintage Bronze 12's on my Guild F-30R Standard. These strings give great balance from bass to trebles while deriving a nice smooth tone for finger style playing that my Guild provides. Try them out!

Hey, Avrim here. Glad a few others dig the new Martin Cleartones. I have a question. I recently read an article ( can't remember where) that compared Light, Extra Light, and Custom Light strings (.12, .11. 10's) and it said that the Custom lights (skinniest) give the most resonance and ring the longest. Does anyone have any experience or comments to share with these? I bought a set of Martin Cleartones Custom Lights ( for 12 string - ouch on price) but I haven't put them on yet. I never tried Custom Lights. comments?

Well isn't easy to say that ? I mean doesn't a given guitar supposed to give the best sound with the right string tension ? Isn't durabilité à factor ? John Hammond went on stronger strings because hé used to break Many first string of lighter caliber... Any comment on string tension vs sound on a guitar ? Bold sound vs versatility ?
